Bedford, IN – The Lawrence County Superior STEAM 4-H Club, Inc. (Superior STEAM), a youth development program through the Lawrence County Purdue 4-H Extension Office, is thrilled to announce its summer events, including a 4-hour Pasta Dinner Fundraiser, STEAM Week, and participation in the Kentucky FIRST Run for Robots. These events aim to inspire the next generation of scientists, artists, engineers, innovators, and leaders.
Pasta Dinner Fundraiser (4-Hour Event)
Join us for a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser on May 31, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 508 Fellowship Dr, Bedford. Enjoy authentic sauces while supporting our capstone robotics team, Certified Tech Freaks (CTF), as they prepare for the Kentucky FIRST Run for Robots. All proceeds will cover travel and competition costs.

STEAM Week: STEAMOLOGY
STEAM Week, themed “STEAMOLOGY,” runs from June 2 to June 7, 2025, at the Sandy and Danny Daugherty Center for STEAM Excellence (1301 I St, Bedford). This free event for youth aged 4-18 explores archaeology and paleontology through hands-on activities. Daily themes include Egyptian Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Pompeii, Rome, Jurassic Era, and a Saturday Fun Game Night.

FIRST Robotics Off-Season
Our capstone team, Certified Tech Freaks (CTF), will compete in the Kentucky FIRST Run for Robots in Lexington, an international off-season tournament with 64 teams from 24 states and 6 countries. CTF will present a video on their operations and compete in robot matches, showcasing their STEAM skills.
About Superior STEAM
Founded in 2019, Superior STEAM is a year-long program through the Lawrence County Purdue 4-H Extension Office. Named after Danny Daugherty’s Superior Kiln and Mill Service, the club offers free STEAM education, supported by grants, sponsorships, and fundraisers like the Pasta Dinner.
